Excited to announce a $175,000 grant titled "Cybersecurity Experiential Program for Military Veterans" at Louisiana State University as part of the National Security Agency Coalition with Rochester Institute of Technology and a major thank you to my co-PI A J Burns from the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business! Our Apprenticeship Program for Military Veterans is a two-year program designed to recruit 25 transitioning veterans from across Louisiana State University (LSU) campus who are interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity. The program will offer education, apprenticeship, and mentorship opportunities to equip the participants with the necessary skills and experience to succeed in the field of cybersecurity. Working with local technology provider Stephenson Technologies Corporation, and with the support of the BIRD Foundation, we were able to connect our platform to a citywide network of sensors so that police drones can be dispatched autonomously when needed.
