In the wake of recent tragedies in Baton Rouge, the business community committed to active engagement in a long-term healing process, including much-needed dialogue about the racial divide.

As a first step, BRAC will hold a special engagement to showcase the work of the Urban Congress on African American males in Baton Rouge, a coalition to transform the lives of black men and boys.

The goal of this special engagement is to enhance the broader community’s understanding of the status of African American boys and men in our community. Featured speaker and prominent community leader Pastor Raymond A. Jetson will share an overview. Seating is limited and early registration is encouraged.

About the Urban Congress: The Urban Congress was established by urban renewal organization MetroMorphosis, which was founded by Pastor Jetson.

The Urban Congress recently unveiled goals and specific action items to drive its work in:

Building leadership,
Broadening access to health care services,
Increase graduation rates, cultivating generational wealth,
Enhancing access to workforce-engagement credentials,
Growing the opportunities of black males who have been incarcerated, and
Expanding the number of black boys entering kindergarten who are ready to learn, read and advance.
